NFTC Story Work

Narrative Focused Trauma Care

Kate is specifically trained in NFTC (Narrative Focused Trauma Care) through the Allender center and she personally understands the deep work that needs to be done to heal, and she brings that to the women who come to CherishedLA. She believes "You can only take people as far as you have gone yourself." (Dan Allender) Kate’s work is marked by compassion, dignity, and sacred story. Kate has a keen understanding of the terrain that funnels women into the sex industry. More importantly, she knows intimately, the cost, compassion, and courage to be free of it by telling the full, complicated truth. Kate has spent over 30 years unpacking her own stories of harm and 17 years working to serve others desiring the same.

Though there are many trauma experts, the only true trauma sherpas that can help guide others through and to the other side are those that have traversed the range of their own heart and body in search of who they are most meant to be. She now creates spaces for others to explore their own stories with honesty, courage, and care. Through story groups and individual work, she gently guides participants towards deeper healing and self-understanding. Walking with someone who knows the terrain is a much kinder way to make this journey.

Individual Story Work

Individual Story Work sessions are designed to help you explore your personal story with greater awareness, compassion, and understanding. Through guided reflection and conversation, you’ll begin to uncover how past experiences shape your relationships, beliefs, emotional responses, spirituality, and everyday life.

These one-on-one sessions create space to process your story at your own pace, helping you gain deeper insight into patterns, wounds, strengths, and the ways your experiences continue to impact how you relate to yourself, others, and God.

Story Work Groups (4–6 People)

Story Work Groups are intimate, interactive experiences designed for deep reflection, connection, and personal growth within a safe group setting. Together, participants explore how life experiences shape identity, relationships, spirituality, and daily life.

In groups of 4–6 people, participants are invited into meaningful conversations and guided exercises that foster self-awareness, empathy, and healing. As each person engages their own story, the group experience offers connection, shared understanding, and insight into how our stories influence the way we relate to ourselves, others, and God.
